November 11 to 13 was the Festival of Trees at Kawartha Settlers Village. Thousands of people came out to help celebrate the event’s 25th anniversary. On Friday evening, the village was a beautiful sight with all of the Christmas lights. As always, it featured a great raffle, where visitors could bid on beautifully decorated trees and gifts. The Kawartha Lakes Singers performed on Friday evening, followed by the Kawartha Male Chorus the next afternoon. On Saturday and Sunday, there were wagon rides, while Circus Jonathan entertained kids. Many families took advantage of the chance to spend time with Santa Claus, and his reindeer were on site Saturday afternoon. The live auction was held that night. Visitors enjoyed seeing the beautiful trees, helping support all the programs that Settlers Village offers year round, and being part of a great community celebration to kick off the holiday season.
