Layton from the Air

By Guy Scott

Brock Township contained much excellent farmland and was soon a checkerboard of thriving farms. This led to the rise of a number of crossroads hamlets that served the local farming community. In the southeast corner of Brock Township was the community of Layton. It contained a school, Methodist Church, a blacksmith shop and a general store/post office. All the buildings are now gone, but the farms carry on.
