Imagine Having Soap!

December 31, 2021

Sunlight Soap Stamps Out Dirt

Up to the late nineteenth century, soap was homemade (if people washed at all!). Without running water, having a warm bath was an undertaking… going to the well, filling buckets by hand, carrying them to the bathtub, heating the water on the stove, trying to get enough hot water to actually have a warm bath, then filling up the bathtub and don’t forget to empty it afterwards. Dishes were similarly laborious. Homemade soap was typically full of impurities.

But imagine having a bar of Sunlight Soap… the very soap that Her Majesty Queen Victoria used. It would create a revolution in the household… stamp out dirt…. and create harmony in the home…. Maybe, just maybe the advertising was true.
