On Saturday June 8, the Kawartha Yarn and Fibre Festival hosted its 5th Anniversary show at the Fenelon Arena. Each year this event is eagerly anticipated by Ontario fibre artists, and is a wonderful opportunity to share this passion. This year, the event included classes by Indigodragonfuly and Wendo Van Essen. With over 1,000 visitors the event was once again a success. It featured a great selection of yarn and many interesting vendors, including Marion Karol with her hand dyed yarn; Elysha Schuhbauer with her swift darning loom, made from bicycle spokes and repurposed furniture; Patricia Cooper’s spinning demonstration; and Leslie Dyment of Crow Hill Farms.
