Manilla Cabbage Soup







Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup diced celery
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 28 oz can tomatoes
- 15 oz can tomato soup
- 4 cups hot water
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 cups diced raw potatoes
- 1 cup diced raw carrots
- 6 to 7 cups coarsely cut cabbage
- 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
- Dash paprika
Directions
- In a large soup pot, put the first 3 ingredients.
- Stir until the meat is seared: pour off grease.
- Add other ingredients, except cabbage; simmer for 1 hour, uncovered.
- Add cabbage and simmer, coverted, for 1 hour.
- If too thick, add more water.
- This may be frozen for later use.
