Alexander Horn opened a woollen mill at Linden Valley in 1871, which grew into the largest textile mill in Victoria County. In the next generation, his sons Alexander Jr. and James operated the Horn Bros. Lindsay Woollen Mill, a well-known manufacturer of blankets, marketed worldwide.
