Note on an Incident of Early Canadian History, 1863

By John Langton

John Langton became one of the first settlers in Fenelon Township in 1833, as he canoed through the Kawartha Lakes on his way to take up his farm on the North Arm of Sturgeon Lake. In this paper, he looks back at the journey of Samuel de Champlain through the same lakes, in 1815.
