Jack Gould grew up at 29 Oak Street, Fenelon Falls and as a teenager opened a business repairing radios. After high school he moved to Toronto, the Second World War Broke out and he enlisted to serve in the Air Force in 1940, as Britain was facing the Blitz. As he served in Coastal Command and the North Atlantic Patrol, he kept a scrapbook that detailed his experiences overseas. It includes everything from a photo of the boat that he was shipped over on, to the menu at the canteen, to the shows he enjoyed watching in the evening and newspaper clippings detailing his service.
