Hotel Kawartha, Fenelon Falls

The Hotel Kawartha had a big sign mounted high above its front entrance and a second sign mounted directly to the limestone face of the cliffs of the Fenelon Gorge. The wooden staircase linked the hotel to the wharf down below.

Hunters at Camp

A group of eleven men, probably all members of a hunting party, are serenaded by bagpipe music as they pose for the camera outside of a fieldstone cabin at some point during the 1940s. Located on the shores of an unidentified lake, this cabin appears to have been large enough to accommodate a fairly sizable group of people. Note the signage across the top of the building, with at least one sign cautioning visitors to ensure that their campfire is fully extinguished.
