Tree-lined Sturgeon Road/Street led pedestrians and vehicular traffic from downtown Omemee northwards to the board-and-batten Canadian National Railway station, which was constructed sometime between 1915 and 1925.

Around the Campfire

Half a dozen campers gather around a campfire in this hand-tinted view from the turn of the 20th Century. The axe lodged into the stump suggests that the men had finished chopping their firewood and were taking a break to enjoy the pastoral environs of Algonquin National Park.
