The log chute was still in place when this view of Fenelon Falls was captured around 1920. The Falls had been harnessed at the turn of the century on to generate hydroelectricity for both its home community and Lindsay.

The Hotel Kawartha appears to be next to brand new in this view, taken from the south. Though principally a place of accommodation for tourists, the hotel also played host to various Fenelon Falls-area organizations who from time to time met in its public rooms or on its expansive wraparound porch.
