Robert Podger [ 1824 (Approx.) - ]

Robert Podger appears in the 1861 census as an English-born, 37 year-old inn keeper. He lived in a two and a half storey frame “house” with his wife and four children, and five servants. Well-known as the “Innkeeper at the Fenelon Falls” he was the Proprietor of the Clifton House. C.O. Benson, a surveyor, stayed at the hotel on Saturday March 3rd, 1860.
