Patrick Dissette

  • Cooper 1884 (Approx.) - 1885 (Approx.)

Dissette was a cooper in Fenelon Falls and his name first appears in the newspapers in the spring of 1884. William Davis arranged for Patrick Dessette [sic], to manufacture his “atmospheric tempering churn” according to an ad dated 18 June 1884 [FFG 5 July 1884; 2]. A later advertisement stated that his workshop was on Greene Street, near Sandford’s carriage factory [FFG 30 August 1884: 2]. By December his workshop was on “Ullyot Street” [Elliot?] [FFG 20 Dec 1884; 3], but the business does not appear to have lasted much longer . His name vanishes from all sources after this date.

Variant spelling: Dessette.
