Northey Bros.

The Northey Brothers were the sons of Daniel Thomas Northey and Roseanne Mayer. Two of the brothers, Alfred and Washington, with some apparent assistance from their father Thomas Northey, set up a restaurant business as early as 1887 [D&B], although it did not appear regularly until the spring of 1894. Wallace [sic] Lamb sold his stock in trade to Northey Bros. in 1895, and “Northey’s restaurant is now the only one in the village, which is all it is able to support.” [FFG 8 Nov 1895; 4]. The business continued to be listed until 1900.
