Thomas is listed in the directories from 1876-1879, probably the first full-time dentist in the village. He was active in Fenelon at least until 1879 when his return from a tour of the north country is recorded: “Mr. Thomas’s beaming smiles and jolly laughter can be seen and heard as he perambulates our streets with one or other of his many friends” [CP 6 June 1879; 3]. He returned to the village for a visit in 1898 “after 20 years”, and was then living in Minnesota [FFG 28 Oct 1898; 4].
