“For the first time in its history, Fenelon Falls is to have a dairy, the proprietor of which will be Mr. Edward Convers, who has rented the large barn and other premises near the site of Greene and Ellis’s mill, and will start with eight of the best cows he can get in the vicinity…” [FFG 25 Jan 1895; 5] This business does not appear in any of the directories or other business references and it may never have actually begun production. Nonetheless, it was the first recorded attempt in the village, according to E. D. Hand.
